Shortly after the biannual Dachs Fests began in 1991 Adrian Milton, the founder,
suggested to Murray Weinstock a theme song beginning "There's no other dog like a dachshund".
Murray passed on the idea to me and I wrote the rest of the music and the words.
With Murray's promotional and performance skills (that's Murray singing the lead in the recording), this Dachs Song has become a favorite feature of Adrian's wonderful rallies of Dachshund fanciers.
Murray likes to tell anyone who will listen that he wrote the whole song. As a courtesy to my supposed friend I always gave him credit as co-author. No matter. This little song now belongs to the community of dachshund fanciers everywhere who can use it any way they like. -- Paul de Vries
