Shortly after the biannual Dachs Fests began in 1991 Adrian Milton, the founder,
suggested to Murray Weinstock a theme song beginning "There's no other dog like a dachshund".
Murray passed on the idea to me and I wrote the rest of the music and the words.
With Murray's promotional and performance skills (that's Murray singing the lead in the recording), this Dachs Song has become a favorite feature of Adrian's wonderful rallies of Dachshund fanciers.
Murray who, along with Adrian Milton, deserve credit for giving me the idea to write the song and stating the first three measures: "There's no other dog like a Dachshund" -- and nothing beyond that -- likes to tell interviewers that he wrote the whole song. No matter. This little song now belongs to the community of dachshund fanciers everywhere who can use it any way they like. - Paul de Vries
