The Dachshund Friendship Club

The Dachs Song wouldn't exist had not Adrian Milton, a New York City-based freelance writer, started the Dachshund Friendship Club. He had adopted Damon, a smooth-haired dachshund, after its twin Phythias had died, leaving Damon inconsolable from the loss of his sibling.

To find other playmates for Damon, Adrian started the Dachshund Friendship Club, which meets each Spring and Fall in New York City's Washington Square Park. Hundreds of dachshund buffs show up with their charges of all sizes and colors, sometimes fetchingly costumed. Damon, sadly, has since died, but Adrian has a new friend, Waldo.

A very special part of the Club, the Dachshund Rescue League, finds new homes for abandoned and otherwise homeless dachsies.
